Anyone can go to a jewelry store and choose a pair of wedding rings, but in today’s world there is a host of people that want to be different, to stand out from the crowd. One of the biggest complaints that many new brides have is that their husbands are not always happy about wearing their wedding rings because they aren’t comfortable or get in the way of their work.

A wedding band tattoo might just be the answer to that problem. Though it will be uncomfortable to get in the first place, once it is on and has healed, the wearer will not feel a thing and will have to take a gander now and again to remember that it is there.

Kathy Griffin opted to have a wedding band tattoo when she married her husband, but after five years the marriage was over and she decided to have it removed by laser. There is even a song by Ben Folds that praises the virtue of matching tattoos that appear to be wedding rings called “You to Thank.”

So if you are thinking about getting a wedding band tattoo, think long and hard about the consequences not only of the dissolution of the relationship, but if the pain and hard work of caring for it during the healing process is worth the time and effort. Getting a wedding band tattoo is certainly a loving gesture, but as with any tattoo, once it is on it is there to stay unless you have it covered or erased with a laser.
